Depeche Mode: “Life can end quickly”

Depeche Mode are back with “Memento Mori” after the death of their bandmate Andrew Fletcher. A dark album that still holds hope.

They’re only playing a few notes of their second song “Wagging Tounge” from the new album when Dave Gahan suddenly raises his hand. The band falls silent, 400 spectators who have come to an intimate Depeche Mode concert in Munich’s Alte Kongresshalle look irritated. “Sorry,” Gahan whispers into the microphone, “I screwed it up!”
