Monarch sick with Corona
Queen Margrethe II has tested positive for the corona virus. This was announced by the Danish royal family.
Margrethe II of Denmark (81) has been infected with the corona virus. The royal family announced this in a statement. Accordingly, the 81-year-old was tested “positive for COVID-19” last Tuesday evening (February 8).
The monarch shows “only slight symptoms” and is now in the Palais Schack. The palace is the official Copenhagen residence of Margrethe II and is located in Amalienborg Palace.
The palace also announced that the Queen’s planned winter vacation would have to be cancelled. On Wednesday, the 81-year-old actually wanted to go to Norway. The royal family is now following the instructions of the health authorities, it is said.
Margrethe II opened another exhibition
Last Tuesday, Queen Margrethe II opened an exhibition at the Maritime Museum in Helsingør. This year the royal yacht Dannebrog of the Danish royal family celebrates its 90th anniversary. Since 1932, the ship has been the official residence of the Royals on summer tours in Denmark or on official visits overseas.
On this occasion there is now a special exhibition in Helsingør, which Margrethe II officially declared open on Tuesday. The royal family shared photos of the event on Instagramon which the 81-year-old can be seen in a good mood.
