Machine-gunned by the Danes in a first period where he was exposed by the largesse of his defense, Areola limited the damage with three decisive interventions (20th, 38th, 55th). But his failing footwork helped suffocate the Blues.

In short… Without him, the addition would have been saltier.

Benjamin Pavard: 3.5

We say it, we repeat it: he is not a piston and his first period came to remind him. Embarrassed when improving the good French movements at the start of the game, he is also guilty of a too late withdrawal on the first goal of the match. More at ease in the center, unsurprisingly, he still lacked consistency in the duels even if his excellent return (77th) shows that he regained his senses after the break.

Decidedly, the blue jersey weighs heavily on his shoulders. Badly placed on the opening of the Danish score, he participated in disorienting the defense of the Blues of which he was to be the point of balance. Between his numerous failed reminders and his messy interventions, the Munich resident displayed his excessive inconsistency in the France team. Evil in his sneakers from start to finish. An ordeal and a decidedly very difficult start to an international career.

Where did the serene Arsenal defender go? All his recovery choices exuded feverishness and his interventions lacked sharpness. He lacks promptness on the opener (35th), forgets Maehle behind his back (38th) a few minutes later and lacks vigilance on the corner which brings the second Danish goal (39th). Five minutes in the shape of a shipwreck.

• In short… He sank and took the Blues with him.

The Marseillais immediately brought depth. Generous, he also reached his limits in duels against much more lively Danes. His good center back for Mbappé (68th) deserved a better fate but he was generally too rough.

Benedict Badiashile: 4.5

In duels, he knows how to play with his physique and has the courage to take a ball from him in the air. But in the race, Skov Olsen hurt him. He shone a lot less than against Austria even if he made fewer mistakes than his unfortunate friends in the evening in defense.

• In short… He still has to convince.

Ferland Mendy: 3.5

He too missed his chance. Skov Olsen caused him a lot of problems and he forgot the twirling Dane on the second goal. Too short and too neutral in attack, often behind behind, he lacked benchmarks.

• In short… He is one of the losers of the rally. Too light.

Eduardo Camavinga: 2.5

Apart from ten fairly fair minutes punctuated by a floating strike, the poor Madrilenian lived through hell in Copenhagen. As soon as he was put under pressure, Camavinga completely lost the thread by offering a significant amount of ammunition to the Danes on the restart. An unusual waste which testifies to the feverishness of the one who had not played with the A’s for two years. Out at the break, hard not to see it as a sanction.

• In short… The World Cup has probably just passed under his nose.

We first thought he could have changed the course of the meeting by bringing his nerve. But he too ended up suffering in the face of Danish accuracy. Like the others, Fofana has lost too many duels.

• In short… He fell back from his cloud.

Aurelien Tchouameni: 3.5

He too took the waves without managing to contain them. But he will be blamed above all for his very lightness in marking on corners. How can he leave four times (!) his opponent, Delaney in this case, alone in the box? Quite uninspired in his game orientations, he did not play the role of relay in the recovery to try to breathe his team at the end of the first period.

In leg and just in his controls and his passes, the Madrilenian seemed to have the canes. The first twenty minutes and the combinations with Mbappé (14th, 67th) or Giroud (17th) recalled his finest hours. But the sinking of the middle and the defense gradually extinguished its influence. He then did not escape disaster by losing easy balloons to the recovery.

The most dangerous of the Blues. Faced with general apathy, he had the merit of trying without being discouraged but he lost his duel against a much more inspired Kasper Schmeichel than with Nice. Mbappé stumbled three times on the last Danish rampart. Too bad because he still made differences.

• In short… Not successful.

Olivier Giroud: 4

He started well with smart discounts for Pavard or Mbappé before gradually disappearing from the landscape. The Blues never stretched out to try to look for him in the air and as they suffered to come out, he saw little of the ball.

• In short… Not a match for him.
