Bavaria’s Prime Minister Söder is looking for new ways to return to nuclear energy. He wants to continue to operate the Isar 2 pile in state responsibility. The federal government should make this possible by law.
After the last German nuclear power plants went offline during the night, Bavarian Prime Minister Markus Söder spoke out in favor of continued operation of the affected Isar 2 reactor under state responsibility. The federal government must create “a separate state responsibility for the continued operation of nuclear power”, demanded the CSU chairman of the “Bild am Sonntag”. Bavaria demands a corresponding change in the Atomic Energy Act.
“As long as the crisis does not end and the transition to renewables does not succeed, we must use every form of energy by the end of the decade,” said Söder. Bavaria also wants to be a pioneer in nuclear fusion research, said Söder. He spoke out in favor of building our own research reactor – “in cooperation with other countries, if you like”.
