Delivery bottlenecks – medium-sized companies increase prices – economy

Many medium-sized companies in Germany are adjusting their prices due to supply bottlenecks and rising energy costs. One in four companies (24 percent) has made its products or services more expensive, according to data collected by the KfW development bank in March. According to KfW, almost half of the companies stated that they were affected by delivery bottlenecks. According to the development bank, about a third of all 3.8 million medium-sized companies in Germany purchase raw materials, preliminary products or services from abroad. They are particularly affected by the disruptions in the global value chains. If you only look at these companies, eight out of ten would have to struggle with delivery bottlenecks. The war in Ukraine is exacerbating the situation.
