Luca app before the end in many places: How to delete the app and its data correctly

More and more federal states are stopping cooperation with the Luca app, elsewhere the collection of contact data is being stopped – the app is therefore no longer part of the basic equipment for combating the pandemic. What to do if you no longer want to use Luca?
The tracing of contacts has been done for now. And corresponding helpers, above all the Luca app, are desperately looking for a new right to exist. Also because there is no funding from the state now that the lucrative contracts are expiring. Berlin, Bavaria, Saxony-Anhalt, Schleswig-Holstein, Bremen, Brandenburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Baden-Württemberg, Hesse and Saarland announced the end of the collaboration with Luca. Only Hamburg, Rhineland-Palatinate and Lower Saxony are still checking how to proceed.
For Luca it is now about bare survival. But the Luca makers, once recipients of state transfers in the millions, have one trump card in their hands. Due to the quasi-forced use during the pandemic, Luca can draw on a huge distribution of their software when it comes to new ideas for the future.
Luca has come and wants to stay
And there are: In addition to falling prices for the remaining customers, the app wants to expand. This ranges from plans to integrate the ID card to a payment function for restaurants that Luca could use to set up a commission business. Sounds good? No? Then you are probably asking yourself the same question as thousands of other people are currently asking: How can I delete Luca and what do I have to consider?
In principle, deleting the Luca app is no different from removing any other app. But: Before you throw the software off your smartphone, you should first remove your data. It works like this: On iOS, click on the tab accounts. All the way down delete accountup again delete account. Similar to Android: Tab accountsat the very bottom delete accountagain Clear. Then close the app and remove as usual. Ready.
If the app is no longer on the smartphone, it is no longer so easy to delete the data. In this case, you must send your request to the email address [email protected] judge. If you own a Luca key ring, you must also contact the manufacturer. an email to [email protected] with the serial number of the key fob is enough. The trailer can then be made unrecognizable and disposed of.
Use the Corona warning app
You can continue to use the Federal Corona warning app to disposal. This works without the involvement of the health authorities and warns you if someone from your environment deposits a positive test. It also offers a check-in function.
