DeepL founder Kutylowski: “The great element of life is missing”

Jaroslaw Kutylowski, founder of the online translator DeepL, speaks to the star about the opportunities and limits of artificial intelligence. And the rapid rise of his company to become the industry leader.

Mr. Kutylowski, DeepL is a German success story. You grow and grow, your company is now worth a billion dollars. What do you do differently from the competition?
It’s actually the case that, roughly speaking, we’ve always grown twice a year and have more or less doubled, especially in terms of employees. We now have 450 employees. And I think that’s a nice visible metric for development. That’s a sporty pace and it’s just because we seem to have made some right decisions about how the product needs to evolve.
