Dress up your bathtub with an apron

the bath apron is a solution that allows the dressing of the bathtub, whatever its shape. This is’a sign that we must install under the edge of the tub. Thus, it can be installed as well on a back-to-back bathtub, as on a corner bathtub, a spa bath, etc., since the bathtub is not built-in and the piping must be concealed, the evacuation and the tank.

Thanks to this apron, you will enjoy an impeccable result. However, there is no need for free standing or freestanding bathtubs, simply because they do not need it. This solution is very easy to implement and can be removed in the event of a problem, such as a water leak. It is also possible and recommended to provide an inspection hatch in order to access the piping without dismantling everything. Aprons come in several models, but in any case, be sure to choose it water repellent, otherwise you will have to apply a protective varnish.

The universal apron

The universal apron is very easy to fix using clips. Its biggest advantage is that it can be cut to the dimensions of your tub. This allows you to meet your needs.

The acrylic apron

This type of apron is commonly used. It is ready to install and already cut to the dimensions of the bathtub. You just need to fix it with clips. This type of apron can be made of the same material as the tub and in some cases it is sold with it which means that then it is designed especially for the chosen tub.

The ready-to-hang apron

This straight panel can be made of different materials like PVC, glass or even wood. It is made to the dimensions of the bathtub. To install it, simply slide it under the edge of the tub and hold it in place with a jack system.

The apron to be tiled

As the name suggests, this type of apron should be tiled after being installed. It allows you to match your bathtub surround to the rest of the bathroom. It can allow you different fantasies according to your tastes and desires. It is resizable at will.

The curved apron

If you have a corner tub or a round tub, this type of apron is very useful in keeping the curves elegant. In some cases it is possible to tile it, but it is better to turn to mosaics so that you can follow the curves.

Choose the coating

Depending on the coating of the bathroom, if you opt for a tileable model, it is possible to coordinate the apron of the bathtub with the rest of the room.

  • You can thus use the same coating as that used for the floor. In this way, the bathtub surround becomes an extension of the floor to form a whole. This solution is recommended in a narrow and high room.
  • It is also possible to choose a cover identical to the wall. And for good reason, the wall, like the bathtub, is one of the vertical lines of the bathroom. Here again, the bathtub blends into the background. This is a good idea for small bathrooms, as long as you opt for light colors.
  • You want to bet on a different covering of the wall and the floor, why not ! The bathtub no longer blends into the decor, it stands out and becomes a center of attention. This option is ideal for a large bathroom and allows you to differentiate the spaces.
