Death of Justine Vayrac: “I have other things to do than think about your drunk friend”, the chilling message sent by Lucas L.

the essential
Besides the alleged murderer Lucas L., Théo is the last person to have seen Justine Vayrac. He returned to his chilling exchange of messages with the suspect.

He is a figure in spite of herself at the heart of the investigation into the murder of Lotoise Justine Vayrac, 20 years old. Théo, a friend of the victim, gave the investigators a capital account, which allowed the investigators to understand how the young mother ended up finding herself alone, in the company of Lucas L, the alleged murderer, on the night of Saturday 22 to Sunday October 23. The young man thus accompanied the young woman to the nightclub “La Charrette”, in Brive-la-Gaillarde, when she disappeared.

Around 4:00 a.m., Justine Vayrac went to meet her friend Théo, inside the establishment to tell him that she was not feeling well. “She asked me to go out because she wanted to vomit,” explains Theo. The young man claims that the Lotoise felt “tired and nauseous”. Theo then leaves Justine with Lucas L.. The young man tries to reassure Theo: “Don’t worry, let me manage, come back in an hour, I’ll take care of her”. “Attitude [de Lucas L.] seemed correct to me, I was not more suspicious than that”, testifies Justine’s friend to BFM TV. Theo, however, wants to recover Lucas L.’s phone number.

A decisive exchange

A little later in the night, Theo explains to the Figaro that he texted Lucas L. to find out where his friend is. He will have to wait several tens of minutes before getting an answer: “I have other things to do than think about your drunk friend.” Near BFM TV, Theo claims to have had Lucas L. on the phone a little later: He told me that he had left Justine alone in his car and that he had left alone, evokes the friend of the victim. He also told me that he was in full act but not with Justine“.

This exchange was, to say the least, decisive for the rest of the investigation. Traces of blood were indeed found in the car as well as in the suspect’s room. In police custody, Lucas L. finally confessed to having killed Justine Vayrac. “The respondent admitted to having killed the victim when they were both at his home, and that they had just had consensual sexual intercourse”, explained Baptiste Porcher, the public prosecutor of Limoges ( Haute-Vienne). The latter specified “that he had given him a punch, which would have caused his death”.
