A 5-month-old baby infected with Covid-19 died last Wednesday at the Cayenne hospital in Guyana, a source close to health authorities said on Tuesday, confirming information from the site

Six children under 10 died in France

According to Public Health France, six children between 0 and 9 years old have died in France since the start of the epidemic, including one in Guyana.

According to the ARS, 141 people have died from the coronavirus in Guyana, where the incidence rate is 281 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

In the grip of a third wave, Guyana is suffering from a tense situation in intensive care: 37 beds were occupied on Tuesday by Covid patients out of the 52 available, according to the ARS. The reception capacity was recently increased from 48 to 52 thanks to “a reorganization and reinforcements in personnel”.
