Death of Al Jazeera reporter Shirin Abu Akleh – Media

She can be seen on murals all over the Palestinian Territories. Sometimes she’s wearing a flak jacket with the imprint “Press” on it, sometimes her head is surrounded by a kind of halo. Shirin Abu Akleh, the Al Jazeera journalist who was shot dead during an Israeli army operation in Jenin, has become an icon with martyrdom. On the first anniversary of her death this Thursday, she is remembered in many places – and the New York-based Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) has presented a report on this occasion that makes serious allegations against Israel.
