“Dear Child” is one of the biggest successes of the second half of 2023 on Netflix.

International productions are popular on Netflix. The German miniseries “Liebes Kind” was also a huge success last year.

“Liebes Kind” was one of the hottest series on Netflix in the second half of 2023. The streaming service has now announced this. The German Miniseries with Kim Riedle (42), Naila Schuberth and Sammy Schrein took second place among the most watched series on the platform between July and December 2023 with 52.5 million views.

The comparison shows how important international productions have become for the streaming service. The miniseries based on the novel of the same name by Romy Hausmann (43) is only beaten by “One Piece”. The first season of the US-Japanese anime live adaptation had 71.6 million views in the same period.

Meanwhile, the British series “Who is Erin Carter?” is in third place with 50.1 million views. Part three of the French series “Lupin” is in fourth place with 49.7 million and the third season of the fantasy series “The Witcher”, which is based on the original by the Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski (75), is in fifth place with 47.9 million.

The top ten are completed by the fourth season of “Sex Education” (46.3 million), the “Beckham” docuseries (43.9 million), the eighth season of “CoComelon” (37.6 million), season five of “Virgin River” (35.8 million) and the second season of “The Lincoln Lawyer” (35.7 million).

Julia Roberts leads ahead of Gal Gadot

Classic Hollywood stars can hold their own in the films. First place in the second half of 2023 goes to “Leave the World Behind” (121 million views) with Julia Roberts (56), Mahershala Ali (50) and Ethan Hawke (53). “Heart of Stone” (109.6 million) with Gal Gadot (39), Jamie Dornan (42) and the German acting star Matthias Schweighöfer (43) comes in second. The animated film “Leo” (96 million) takes third place, the Spanish thriller “Nowhere” (86.2 million) takes fourth place and fifth place goes to “The Out-Laws” (83.8 million) with Adam DeVine (40), Pierce Brosnan (71) and Nina Dobrev (35).
