Mourning for Dean Stockwell. The actor, who starred in the classic film “Dune”, died at the age of 85.

Dean Stockwell is dead. The actor, who starred in the films “Dune” and “Air Force One”, died at the age of 85, as the news portal TMZ exclusively announced.
Accordingly, he is said to have passed away “peacefully and a natural death” at home early on Sunday morning, as a spokesman confirmed.

Dean worked as an actor for around 70 years, started his career in the 1940s as a child actor and played in countless series and films, including the 1984 classic “Dune – the desert planet”. The film was recently remade and is currently showing in German cinemas. In 1988 Stockwell also starred alongside Michelle Pfeiffer in the film “The Mafiosi Bride”. In the same year he was nominated for an Oscar for best supporting actor.

Dean Stockwell leaves behind his wife and two children

For his role as Admiral Albert “Al” Calavicci in the cult series “Back to the Past”, for which he was in front of the camera between 1989 and 1993, he was nominated for an Emmy several times. In 1990 he received the Golden Globe for best supporting actor. In 1997 he played alongside Harrison Ford in the film “Air Force One” the role of Secretary of Defense Walter Dean and in 2006 took part in the reinterpretation of the classic film “Battlestar Galactica”.

Dean leaves behind his wife, Joy Stockwell, and his two children, Austin and Sophie.
