Deals between cities and climate activists: no one benefits from them – Opinion

Can mayors be blackmailed if they support the goals of the “Last Generation” so that they stop protesting? Probably. And the climate activists almost certainly have little of it.

The anger on the streets is huge, on both sides. Some are angry because they think the politic not doing enough to protect the climate, so they stick to the streets. The others are angry because they are stuck in traffic behind these sticky blocks. You can see it in umpteen mobile phone videos, in which clinging climate activists in high-visibility vests call out desperate appeals at inner-city intersections and forced motorists (masculine not generic here) yell at them, pull them off the very same intersections or drive off without further ado.
