Two people were killed in Fischerhude near Bremen. It takes less than 24 hours until the alleged perpetrator turns himself in to the police – with a motive that is now known.

After the discovery of two bodies in a residential building in Fischerhude, Lower Saxony, the responsible homicide squad searched several buildings on Thursday. “According to what we know so far, the background to the fact is to be seen in long-lasting personal disputes with one another.” More details will be determined, it said.

Among other things, the house in which the crime took place was searched, but also residential properties that were connected to the 64-year-old suspect. Special forces, service dogs and a drone were looking for evidence.

A judge at the Verden District Court issued an arrest warrant on Wednesday, the police said. That same morning, the suspect faced investigators who had been looking for him for hours.

On Tuesday, a 73-year-old woman and a 56-year-old man were found dead in the house, as well as a seriously injured 53-year-old woman. A firearm is said to have been used. According to the police, the man, who is in custody under suspicion of murder, has not yet commented on the allegations.
