A father first shoots his four-year-old son, then himself – apparently with a pistol that he legally owned. In his apartment, the investigators find farewell letters and a living will.
In the case of the killed four-year-old and his also dead father, both of whom were discovered on Sunday morning by a jogger in a wooded area near Waldtrudering, the police assume a “meticulously planned act” by the 42-year-old father. In the apartment of the accused, ten farewell letters to different addressees such as his own mother and child mother were found, as well as a living will, said Stephan Beer, head of the Munich homicide squad. There was also a graphic there that sketched the crime scene so that both could have been found. According to Beer, the father and child went into the forest, where the father first killed his child and then himself with a Glock pistol that was legally in his possession. Three more pistols are said to be in a still unopened safe. Father and child died of bullets in the head.
The police set the time of the crime between 6.30 a.m. and 8.50 a.m. shortly before they were found. According to previous investigations, the motive for the crime was private: the electrician had been separated from the child’s mother for several months. In addition, the mother apparently considered giving the four-year-old to a living group because of a health impairment, which the father did not want. The boy was with his father every weekend. The bodies were autopsied on Monday.
