DB Cargo – rail bundles China traffic – economy

The freight transport subsidiary of Deutsche Bahn, DB Cargo, is bundling transport to and from China in a new company. The company announced that direct connections between China and 18 European countries should be possible with DB Cargo Transasia. It also wants to reorganize services in China. In the future, Chinese freight customers could be offered collection, transport via various rail networks and onward transport in Germany from a single source. Previously, customers would often have had to commission various service providers for this. In 2020, DB Cargo transported around 200,000 containers between Asia and Europe. By 2025, Deutsche Bahn intends to more than double its capacity to 500,000 containers.
