Both Kelly Clarkson and the US soap opera “General Hospital” were the clear winners at this year’s Daytime Emmy Awards.

The Daytime Emmy Awards were presented for the 49th time in Los Angeles on Friday evening. The awards ceremony recognizes the best daytime TV entertainment shows. Among the sweepers is once again Kelly Clarkson (40), who was awarded best presenter for her “The Kelly Clarkson Show”. In addition, her show was voted best entertainment talk show. In 2020, the singer was able to take home the Daytime Emmy for the first season of her show.

Five Daytime Emmys for “General Hospital”

The second big winner of the evening is the series “General Hospital”, which has been broadcast on US television since 1963. The soap opera has won five awards, including Best Drama. The two “General Hospital” stars Jeff Kober (68) and Kelly Thiebaud (39) were each considered best supporting actor and best supporting actress.

Mishael Morgen (35) was the first to receive the Daytime Emmy as best actress in a drama series for her role in “Shadow of Passion”. John McCook (78) was awarded Best Actor for his role in “The Rich and Beautiful”.
