David de Jong: How German Entrepreneurs Profited in the Nazi Era – Culture

For four years, the Dutch business journalist David de Jong researched in Berlin how leading German entrepreneurial families enriched themselves from the policies of the Nazi regime and how poorly their heirs come to terms with this past. His non-fiction book “Brown Heritage” has now been published and has been translated from English into 19 languages. In it, de Jong intertwines stories of different entrepreneurs, so that patterns emerge in the audacity and cruelty of the beneficiaries of crime, as well as in the silence of subsequent generations. We reach de Jong via video link in Amsterdam.
