The mini-series “Beckham” has been on display since October 4th. The four-part documentary about David Beckham lands at the top of the Netflix charts.

David Beckham (48) can be happy about the success of his Netflix documentary “Beckham”. The four-part mini-series leads the global Netflix charts for English-language series productions and topped the list with 12.4 million viewers in its debut week. Season four of the coming-of-age series “Sex Education” remained in second place (6.6 million viewers), while season five of the dating format “Love Is Blind” landed in third place (3.7 million viewers).

Meanwhile, all three parts of the crime series “Lupin” (France) made it onto the list of non-English language series. Part three took first place with 11.6 million viewers. Parts one and two reached number two (3.5 million views) and number four (2.7 million views) on the weekly list. The German series “Liebes Kind” came in third place (3 million views).

“Beckham”: That’s what it’s about

In addition to David Beckham, his wife Victoria Beckham (49) and his parents David (75) and Sandra (74), the former Manchester United coach Alex Ferguson (81) and Beckham’s footballer colleague are interviewed in the “Beckham” documentary Gary Neville (48). The first episode is about David Beckham’s first legendary goal and meeting Spice Girl Victoria. Episode two is about the drastic events after the 1998 World Cup and the birth of son Brooklyn (24).

Episode three highlights the tensions between Beckham and Manchester manager Ferguson, which leads to the club move to Madrid. Episode four is all about David’s career after moving to Spain and a current review.
