The highlight of the year for darts fans begins on Friday. There are daily reports of the World Cup from London. In Germany, Sport1 and DAZN mainly report.

Anyone who will be taking part in the Darts World Championship in the coming weeks until January 3rd If you want to follow London, you can hardly avoid Sport1 and DAZN. The TV station and the streaming service report extensively on the event at Alexandra Palace, in which five German starters are taking part for the first time. It starts on Friday evening (8 p.m.) when three first-round games and one second-round game will be played. England’s world champion Michael Smith makes his first appearance.

16 days of Darts World Cup on Sport1 and DAZN

According to its own information, Sport1 broadcasts around 127 hours live on free TV. DAZN shows each of the 28 sessions. The game is played on a total of 16 days, with a break only on the three days of Christmas and New Year’s Eve. From a German perspective, Gabriel Clemens, Martin Schindler, Ricardo Pietreczko, Florian Hempel and Dragutin Horvat are qualified. Clemens surprisingly reached the semi-finals at the last edition.

When reporting, Sport1 relies on the expertise of unqualified professionals: Robert Marijanovic acts as a co-commentator, Max Hopp is partly on site in London as an expert. Hopp also works for DAZN. Elmar Paulke, Adrian Geiler and Tom Kirsten comment for the streaming service. Basti Schwele is at the microphone at Sport1.
