Darts World Cup: Darius Labanauskas lets “Ally Pally” riot – darts

Darts madness in the “Ally Pally” …

Fourth day of the World Cup – and already the second nine-darter!

On Friday evening, the Scot William Borland (25) had already played the perfect game in the all-important final leg against Bradley Brooks – and put the fans in London’s Alexandra Palace into total ecstasy.

Less than 24 hours later, Darius Labanauskas (45) adds!

The Lithuanian (No. 33 in the world) throws nine perfect arrows in a row in the fourth leg, thus making the first set against Mike de Decker.

Two nine-darters at a World Cup, that had only happened twice in PDC history – and the last time was eight years ago. In the first round of the 2014 World Cup, things went even faster: Terry Jenkins and Kyle Anderson shook the “Ally Pally” with their two nine-darters within just one hour.

The bitter fate that Jenkins and Anderson now share with Labanauskas: all conceded defeats – despite their nine-darters. Labanauskas lost the following three sets against the Belgian de Decker and is out.

This means that he no longer has a chance of receiving the extra bonus from sponsor “Selco”. He pays 100,000 euros for a player’s SECOND nine-darters at the World Cup. Half of the money goes to the professional. A quarter is donated or a quarter goes to a fan.

William Borland continues to have the best chances of the money rain due to the Labanauskas-Aus.
