Darts World Cup: 3-0 against Iren O’Connor: German Giant gigantic | Sports

Our German giant is one step further!

On the seventh day of the Darts World Cup in London’s Ally Pally, the German “darts giant” Gabriel Clemens (39) won 3-0 against the Irishman William O’Connor and is now in round three of the tournament.

The first 180 goes to the Irishman, who clears the first leg with a double four. In the second leg, Clemens finally grabs his first 180 – and immediately grabs his first leg. 1:1 O’Connor wins the next leg in the second match point. And so it goes on almost alternately – until Clemens, called “Gaga”, clears the first set 3:2 in the decider.

Noticeable: Both get good averages in the first set, Clemens is just over 100, O’Connor just under.

Clemens confidently grabs the first leg in the second set and immediately follows with a double eight with the third arrow and the second set. Even though “Gaga” is quick in the finish area, his Irish competitor takes the next leg and then back. Dangerous! But Clemens makes an amazing decider and decides the second set for himself.

The 2:0 lead for our German giant!

The naked World Cup madness! Argentina fans drop covers

When Clemens takes the lead with the first leg in the third and potentially decisive set, O’Connor can only shake his head. And then “Gaga” really pulls through, closing the second leg with two bulls-eyes and the double sixteen. And then he makes the third leg 3-0 and with it his third set and the 3-0 overall victory – in far less than an hour. Really strong!

So far Clemens hasn’t been able to celebrate any great successes this year and is ranked 25th in the world. But now he has laid the foundation for a strong World Championship!
