Only a few days until the PDC Darts World Championship 2022 in London. If you want to emulate the stars in your own living room, you need the right darts accessories. But what does it actually include?

Alexandra Palace is ready for the next big darts party. After a World Cup in front of empty stands, the PDC Darts World Championship will take place again in front of an audience from December 15, 2021. The Welshman Gerwyn Price comes to the oche for the first time as the defending champion and the hunted. In addition to the 35-year-old, 95 other athletes will compete over 16 days for the prize money totaling 2.5 million pounds. Among them also crowd favorite Fallon Sherrock and four German players (Gabriel Clemens, Florian Hempel, Fabian Schmutzler and Martin Schindler).

Do you have space for a dartboard and you really want to get the legendary 180 points? You need these darts accessories for this.

The dartboard

Before you get the darts and suitable accessories, you have to decide between the classic steel dartboard and an electronic dartboard – both variants have their advantages and disadvantages. While that classic board demands mental arithmetic from the players, the electronic disc the technology. The metal arrows, also known as steel darts, are much more pointed on the original and therefore more dangerous, but also easier to replace, while the Plastic arrows electronic output are more harmless and therefore a good start for beginners.

The darts

In addition to the board, the darts are the most important thing in darts. They usually consist of a barrel with a tip, a screwed-on shaft, and the so-called flight, which allows the arrow to fly towards the target in the first place. A set includes three darts. The tips of arrows for electronic darts can be exchanged. That is not possible with Steeldarts. However, they are also much more robust and easier to care for. A set of standard arrows, such as the one, is sufficient for the first trial lesson in order to get a feel for the sport of darts Razor Edge from Red Dragon. If you want to feel a bit like the reigning world champion Gerwyn Price, you should use the champion’s darts. Here are the Red Dragon Gerwyn Price available.

The tips

The constant bouncing and pulling out of the arrows can cause the Plastic tips With soft darts – i.e. an electronic disc – bend or break off over time. The more you indulge in the sport, the higher the wear and tear on arrows in the end. For this reason, you should always have a few replacement tips on hand, which you can then replace at any time if necessary. Otherwise, you will be annoyed when you run out of arrows at the crucial moment.

The catch ring

If you choose a classic dart board, it is advisable to have one Guard ring to buy. Its primary purpose is to protect your wall from the pointed metal arrows. Because, especially with beginners, one or the other arrow does not always end up in the target, but instead of it. You simply slip the ring over the dartboard – and if it has been used too much after a while, you can simply turn it over and use the back. Because most protective rings can be used on both sides and thus have a longer shelf life.

The flights

The wings on the dart, so those Flights, are critical to the trajectory. It is therefore all the more important to regularly replace this like the tip, because the fact is: If you drop or bounce off the dartboard or the wall, the flights wear out over time. In order to master your throwing technique, the wings have to be intact. Therefore, torn flights should be replaced immediately, as otherwise the trajectory of the arrows can change negatively. You get the wings in the set.

The pocket

A suitable one is recommended not only for storing but also for transporting the darts Dart pocket: Leave there enough space for the arrows and replacement accessories such as flights and shafts. The plastic or metal tips can be stored in the separate plastic vials because they can be locked and there is no risk of the tips flying around in the bag and damaging the flights.

The lighting system

It’s not necessary, but it’s very handy: a Dartboard lighting system with magnetic feet so that it can be easily attached to the steel ring of a disc. Equipped with 125 small LED lamps, the system ensures the right lighting – regardless of how light or dark it is in the room itself. Not a must for beginners at all, but rather a nice goodie for the weak-eyed.
