Red Hook Studios has announced that Darkest Dungeon II will be released on July 15, 2024 for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. After the PC launch in 2023, players will soon be able to embark on the dangerous journey aboard the stagecoach. The base game and the DLC “The Binding Blade” and the Oblivion Pack, which includes the base game and the DLC, will be available as a cross-buy for PlayStation 4 and 5.
Darkest Dungeon II challenges players to care not only for the physical well-being of their heroes, but also for their mental strength as they face the horrors of the path that lies ahead. Players must navigate a world on the brink of collapse while battling their own inner demons as every decision they make has grave consequences.
“We were excited to bring Darkest Dungeon II to PlayStation gamers,” said Tyler Sigman, design director at Red Hook Studios. “The game feels great with the DualSense controller – for example, we could feel the heartbeat of the heroes on the verge of death or the rumble of the stagecoach’s wheels as it hits a trap. Darkest Dungeon I was fortunate to find a strong PlayStation community and we hope the sequel will do the same.”
In addition to the main game, the DLC “The Binding Blade” will also be available for PlayStation players. Key features of this content pack include two playable heroes, the Duelist and the Crusader, as well as the roaming mini-boss “The Warlord”.
The game invites players on a thrilling journey through five campaigns known as “Confessions,” each offering its own fearsome bosses and piercing mechanics. Including Duelists and Crusaders, players can now choose from a list of 14 playable heroes. Additional features include the extensive Altar of Hope metagame hub, 10 companions with various run-defining traits, and optional thematic difficulty modifiers in the form of Radiant Flame and Infernal Flame gear for those seeking less or more challenge want.
Darkest Dungeon II will be released on July 15, 2024 for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Darkest Dungeon II and the Oblivion bundle can be pre-ordered from April 18, 2024.
