Singer Dani, star of the 1960s and 70s, died on the night of July 18-19. His manager confirmed the news to our colleagues from RTL. The artist was 77 years old and had first made a name for herself as a model before taking her first steps in the cinema and turning to singing. The public will remember in particular his duet like a boomerangperformed with Etienne Daho, thanks to which she made a comeback in 2001.
Dani died of “following an illness” in the Tours region where she lived, we learned from her manager. She had just finished touring her latest album. Golden Horizons and she was already finishing the preparation of a new album.
Dani was to represent France at Eurovision in 1974 but the death of the Head of State Georges Pompidou prevents the artist from packing his bags: the day of national mourning is set for April 6. Either the day of Eurovision… For the first time since the competition was created in 1956, France then had to withdraw from the event.
