The 38 year old Brazilian who is only eligible to play from January, earns less than any other player in the Catalans’ squad. The 155,000 euros are the minimum wage stipulated by the Spanish League Association for a professional footballer.
“Alves really wanted to come and therefore accepted the minimum offer,” wrote the newspaper Marca. However, heavy bonus payments await the veteran when winning a title.
