A single page of a Spider-Man comic has fetched a record millions of dollars in sales in the United States. Page 25 of Marvel’s 1984 Secret Wars No. 8 shows Spider-Man in a black suit for the first time, which ultimately led to the emergence of the character Venom.

Starting at $330,000

A bid of 3.36 million dollars (around 2.93 million euros) won the contract. The auction at a four-day comic book event in Dallas started at $330,000.

On the same day, one of the last surviving copies of Superman’s 1938 debut, Action Comics No. 1, fetched $3.18 million.

It is not yet known who the buyers are.
