Daesh: the jihadist group announces the death of its leader

The Daesh group announced Thursday, August 3 the death of its leader Abu Al-Husseini al-Qourachi, in a voice recording broadcast on Telegram. The chief jihadist was killed during clashes in Syria.

Daesh no longer has a leader. Abu Al-Hussein al-Husseini al-Qurachi is dead, the spokesperson for the radical group announced in a sound recording broadcast on Telegram on Thursday August 3.

According to the information given in the voice message, the jihadist leader of Daesh was killed “after a direct confrontation (…) in one of the localities of the province of Idleb”.

The clashes took place in northwestern Syria, with the jihadist formation Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) trying to capture it.

However, the spokesman announcing the death of Daesh No. 1 gave no details, neither on the exact place nor on the date of his death.
