Dachau: Why Christians should reinterpret the Easter message – Dachau

Gerhard Haszprunar is a biology professor and deals intensively with questions of faith. A conversation about why Christians should reinterpret the resurrection story and why Harry Potter also conveys the core of the Easter message.

Interviewed by

Dorothea Friedrich, Dachau

Easter is one of the Christian festivals where, for some, going to church is a must, even if you don’t really know much about religion. The biology professor Gerhard Haszprunar, who lives in Dachau, conveys a new perspective on the passion story and the resurrection of Jesus. For a long time he has dealt intensively with questions of faith. “Resurrection – Easter believed anew”, that’s what Haszprunar recently called his lecture in the series “Fridays at five” of the Dachau parish Heilig Kreuz. In an interview, the scientist explains why traditional beliefs are seen and understood differently today.
