Dachau: Max Kronawitter presents documentary film about death march – Dachau

Through the Würmtal to Starnberg, via Wolfratshausen to Bad Tölz and Waakirchen – more than 10,000 prisoners of the Dachau concentration camp were driven towards the Alps in the last days of the war. Guarded by bloodhounds and SS units, they fought to survive before the US Army liberated the miserable train. On the occasion of the 77th anniversary of the liberation of the Dachau concentration camp, the film “Death March”, in which the event is dealt with, will be shown for the first time. The SZ Dachau spoke with director Max Kronawitter about his motivation, encounters with eyewitnesses and the importance of remembering.
