For the AfD politician Florian Jäger, things have not been going smoothly for months. In the federal election in September 2021, the 51-year-old district councilor and head of the Fürstenfeldbrucker AfD lost his seat of parliament in Berlin – less than four months later, on Wednesday morning, detectives were standing in front of his home in Olching with a search warrant. The Munich Public Prosecutor’s Office confirmed to the SZ that an investigation is underway against Florian Jäger for inciting hatred and playing down the Holocaust.
