Dachau: Corona situation in the clinic remains critical – Dachau

Also a defeat for the vaccination opponents, so-called lateral thinkers and conspiracy believers: The vaccinations in the district continue to pick up speed. In the past week around 10,000 vaccinations were again given; This means that there are already 64,970 third-party vaccinations, as the Dachau district office announced on Tuesday. The majority are apparently not confused by the few hundred people in the large minority of the Corona demonstrators, who have been protesting against the pandemic fight for a few weeks with light parades. The third vaccination rate is 42 percent, in Bavaria it is 36.2 percent and throughout Germany 36.6 percent of the population.

The number of first vaccinations has also risen again, by around 1,000 to 113,322 (as of December 27). This means that the vaccination quota is 73.2 percent. A total of 110,289 residents in the district received the second vaccination dose, which also increased the rate slightly to 71.2 percent. On Tuesday, the incidence in the district was 178.6 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days. The incidence is falling continuously, but the experts consider the situation to be worrying: because of the virus variant Omikron and an imminent fifth wave.

In the past week, 275 new infections were reported to the Dachau health department. About 86 percent of those affected showed symptoms. In two cases it is the omicron variant; 13 other cases are well-founded suspected Omikron cases.

Six patients need intensive care

People between the ages of 19 and 59 are most affected. So far, the transmission route of the virus has been determined in a good half of the cases. The infections still occur mainly in the private environment. A hotspot is not recognizable in the district, judge the experts. Most of the infections found in schools are based on out-of-school infection sites. Currently 28 students from 20 classes in ten schools are affected; three classes had to be completely quarantined. In the day care centers, ten groups in nine facilities are affected.

The situation at the Helios Amper Clinic in Dachau is still critical, and the number of corona patients remains high. Currently, 17 patients between the ages of 37 and 88 with a proven Covid 19 infection are being treated in the normal ward, twelve of whom are not vaccinated. Five patients have been vaccinated – mostly with the vaccine from the manufacturer Biontech – but the second vaccination was more than six months ago in all cases. This shows the importance of a booster vaccination. Another six patients between the ages of 49 and 71 require intensive medical care. Two of these patients have a vaccination that is over six months old – the other four patients do not have a corona vaccination. Unfortunately, four other sick people aged 71, 72, 75 and 81 died in the past week as a result of the virus infection.

Even at the turn of the year, the vaccination teams are on the road throughout the entire district. Citizens can also receive all corona vaccinations (first, second and third vaccinations) in the doctor’s offices. Many vaccination appointments are still open in the coming weeks. The Pandemic Coordination Group appeals to everyone to get vaccinated as soon as possible and to have the booster vaccination. Doctors say it takes ten to 14 days for the vaccine to work. With a view to the Omikron variant, vaccinations must now be carried out so that as many as possible have the best possible vaccination protection in mid-January. In addition to the doctor’s offices, there are vaccination appointments at www.landratsamt-dachau.de/drive-in and about BayIMCO (www.impfzentren.bayern).
