Dachau Chamber Choir gives Christmas concert in the Assumption Day – Dachau

The Dachau Chamber Choir and the Brass Quintet Consorcio Brassivo invite you to the joint Christmas concert on Friday, December 30th at 7 p.m. in the parish church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Dachau. Rainer Dietz is in charge. Admission is free, donations are welcome.

In addition to the well-known Christmas carols such as “Rejoice, you dear Christians all”, “Born in Bethlehem” and “Come, you shepherds”, choir and brass music by F. Mendelssohn Bartholdy (“Rejoice, you peoples”), M. Reger ( “Sleep, my little child”), by C. Freundt (“The holy Christ is born to us”) and by F. Reichardt, K. Nystedt, M. Lauridsen, J. Schelle and A. Vivaldi.

The Dachau Chamber Choir, which has existed for more than 20 years, is conducted alternately by Christiane Höft (Peace Church) and Rainer Dietz (Assumption of Mary). It was formed in 1997 from a small group of initially just seven people who had gotten together out of an interest in choral music. In addition to a wide variety of demanding choral works, the chamber choir has also performed oratorical works with soloists and orchestras in Dachau and other cities such as Rosenheim, Landshut, Augsburg, Munich and Nuremberg since 2000.
