Cyril Hanouna gets the “Additional investigation” hearings off the ground

The promotion made by Cyril Hanouna himself worked well for France 2. While the sulphurous host of C8 wanted to put an end to “Complément d’investigation” after the broadcast of an episode dedicated to him, the latter finally attracted a very strong audience. More than 3 million viewers watched the program broadcast Thursday evening on France 2, according to Médiamétrie figures published Friday. Despite the late schedule, from 11 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., the investigative magazine achieved an audience share of 32.9%. This means that one in three viewers in front of the TV at that time were watching it.

“This is the only thing we will remember from this merguez investigation!! », Reacted the conductor of “Touche pas à mon poste” on Friday morning, commenting on this audience figure on the social network X (formerly Twitter). “I feel like we’re going to golri [rigoler] of this deception tonight!! » in “TPMP”, he added, matching his comment with emoticons crying with laughter.

“A difficult climate”

Thursday evening, at the time of the broadcast, he posted this message accompanied by a photo of himself: “With my fricassee [beignet salé venant de Tunisie, lui-même ayant des origines juives tunisiennes] in front of “Further investigation!” The treat my darlings! » This broadcast was the culmination of a long controversy between the France 2 magazine and the powerful 49-year-old host producer, who is described there as “the new godfather of the PAF” and refused to be interviewed.

To decipher the mechanics at work behind the scenes of “Touche pas à mon poste”, the host’s flagship show on the C8 channel, journalist Virginie Vilar interviewed around thirty direct collaborators. Half denounced “a difficult climate”, most of them on condition of anonymity. “Additional investigation” also returned to several of the controversies which earned C8 a shower of warnings and sanctions from Arcom, for a total of 7.5 million euros.
