Cycling holiday: 6 special long-distance cycle paths across Germany

As soon as the first rays of sunshine come out, many Germans get back on their bikes. Not just for commuting, but also for the long-awaited cycling holiday. According to a survey by the General German Bicycle Club (ADFC), around 68 percent of Germans travel by bicycle at least occasionally. Sometimes it’s leisurely, sometimes it gets a little more action-packed and more demanding for the cyclists.

Six cool long-distance cycle paths in Germany

If you are looking for a new route for your next cycling holiday, you will quickly find it in Germany. We have a wide range of long-distance cycle paths in this country that connect us with our neighboring countries and offer the best conditions for both beginners and professionals. The cycle paths run along rivers, mountains and the sea, show paths to cultural hotspots, industrial areas and lead through lonely valleys and picturesque vineyards.

Those that run along a river are particularly suitable for beginners. The fewest gradients are to be expected there, the routes usually run on a well-developed and flat road and can therefore also be easily traveled by families with children. Cycle paths along the coast or in the mountains, on the other hand, often contain uneven sections and are therefore particularly suitable for experienced cyclists in the relevant stages. We present our six favorites to you in the picture gallery.
