“Die Schwalben” are Munich’s oldest cycling club. Your sports director, Roman Stoffel, explains how sport is doing in the city. A conversation about doping, professionals and young people

You hardly see them in the city, they are still on the road with the handbrake on, but beyond the Ring, on the quieter arterial roads, you do meet them: the really fast, the semi-professional or really professional racing cyclists. Many of them are organized by “RC Die Schwalben 1894” Munich, the oldest cycling club in the city. Several Olympic and World Cup participants as well as numerous Bavarian and German champions have worn the Schwalben dress. But the club has also gained a good reputation as an organizer of road and track races as well as mountain bike and cyclocross events. A conversation with the sports director Roman Stoffel.
