Amazon is no longer just a seller. Prime, an exclusive payment service, was introduced back in 2005 (in Germany from 2007). With a paid subscription, orders now arrived within one to two working days. According to Wikipedia, there are now more than 150 million Prime customers worldwide. With Amazon Prime Video and Amazon Music, the company is now one of the largest video and music streaming services.

You won’t just find LG TVs or Bose soundbars for sale on Amazon. The company has now also established some very successful own brands. In 2007, Amazon’s own e-book reader, the Kindle, came onto the market. Since 2014, Amazon has also been producing Smart Speakers under the name Amazon Echo. Since 2021, the naming has been confusing, because that year Amazon introduced its first television – also under the name Fire TV.
