It won’t be long until Easter. Hanni Rabbit will soon have his paws full again at the Easter Bunny post office.

Anyone who has wishes for Easter can soon send a letter to Write Easter Bunny. The Easter post office in Ostereistedt, Lower Saxony, will open again from Monday, as the post office announced. The Easter bunny Hanni Hase and his team want to answer every letter.

The letters should be addressed to “Hanni Hase, Am Waldrand 12, 27404 Ostereistedt”. The deadline for entries is March 23rd. Deutsche Post covers printing costs and postage for the reply letters. It is important that the children write down their sender address on the letter in a legible manner.

Children’s wishes and concerns

In recent years, the children often sent wish lists to Hanni Hase, but they also wrote about their worries. “The desire for peace in the world was particularly important to the children,” it continued. Around 80,000 letters from the region and all over the world reached the special post office last year.

“Our Easter post office has a long tradition,” said Christoph Langer, branch manager of the post office in Bremen. The first letters reached the Easter post office in 1982. “And seeing how many children send their letters to Ostereistedt can really touch you.” In the Corona year 2021, Hanni Hase even answered more than 100,000 letters.

The first letters are already arriving at the Easter Bunny post office in Upper Lusatia. There “Olli Osterhase” and his wife “Lotti Langohr” respond to the Easter mail. The branch in Seifhennersdorf, Saxony, has existed since 2005. There is also an Easter Bunny post office in Osterhausen, which belongs to the town of Eisleben in Saxony-Anhalt.
