Curfews in several regions from BW – SWR Aktuell

Exit restrictions again, but this time it only affects the unvaccinated. In hotspots they are only allowed on the street at night for very valid reasons.

Due to an exceptionally strong increase in corona infections, unvaccinated people in three districts are only allowed to leave their apartments at night for good reason from Monday. Leaving your own four walls in the Corona hotspots Schwarzwald-Baar district, Ostalbkreis and Biberach These people are only allowed between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. for medical emergencies and for work reasons, said the head of the Ministry of Social Affairs, Uwe Lahl, on Saturday. Lahl instructs the authorities to implement this in a letter to the health authorities available to the SWR.

Will more circles be added? If the development continues, “then yes,” Lahl said in the SWR. The task now is to break the fourth wave as quickly as possible. “The cause of this fourth wave are those who have not been vaccinated,” continued Lahl. That is why you have to take measures that help prevent these people from contributing to the infection process.

This is one of the reasons why, from Monday on, access to restaurants, hotels (with the exception of business travelers) and retail is only permitted to vaccinated and recovered visitors and customers, according to Lahl. Excluded from this access restriction are shops and markets that serve the basic supply such as grocery stores, pharmacies, petrol and post offices, parcel services and banks as well as companies that provide services close to the body.

All-day curfews as a further step?

This step could rekindle the question of how effective night curfews are in particular. It is hoped that this measure will have an effect, as it will reduce the number of nocturnal encounters such as parties or visits to friends, said Lahl. “If this measure is not enough, then you have to extend it to the day.”

A general lockdown for vaccinated people is not wanted because these people have nothing to do with the infection – “and they don’t deserve it either,” Lahl told the SWR.

Hotspots with incidences over 600

On Thursday, the State Health Office reported an exceptionally strong increase in the number of infections in the Schwarzwald-Baar district over the past seven days.

“The seven-day incidence per 100,000 inhabitants according to the stated reporting status is 659.6 and thus well above the national average,” it said. On Saturday, the seven-day incidence per 100,000 inhabitants was 702.2 in the Ostalb district and 631.9 in the Biberach district. For the Schwarzwald-Baar district, the value is currently given as 606.0. The city district of Pforzheim was above the 600 mark on Saturday (637.2). A further eleven urban and rural districts had a value above 500.

General cancellation of Christmas markets threatens

For the whole country, however, Christmas markets could be canceled. One vacillates whether it makes sense to let it take place, so Lahl. But he wanted to let the Christmas markets take place. You may have to fall back on the 2G or 2G-Plus scheme.

In general, significantly stricter corona restrictions should apply in Baden-Württemberg from next week, especially for younger unvaccinated people. The green-black government is now planning to introduce the 2G rule (recovered or vaccinated) for 12 to 17 year olds, which should also have far-reaching consequences for many families. In addition, exit restrictions for unvaccinated people in corona hotspots are planned. The new Corona regulation is currently being drawn up.

The corona alert level has been in effect since Wednesday, at which unvaccinated people are largely excluded from participating in public life. Only vaccinated and convalescent people now have access to cinemas, museums, swimming pools and most other public events.

Even those who can only show one negative test in restaurants or cafes have to stay outside. Schoolchildren have had to wear masks again since Wednesday. In addition, contact restrictions apply to unvaccinated people. You may only meet with one other person, alone or as a household.

Prime Minister Winfried Kretschmann (Greens) and Interior Minister Thomas Strobl (CDU) had warned the municipalities to significantly tighten their Corona controls. The country observed with great concern that in many places basic protective measures were being implemented completely inadequately, the two wrote in a letter to cities and municipalities on Friday.

Heads of government admonish municipalities

Priority controls in the catering industry have recently shown that the control of vaccination or test certificates, for example, is often negligent. The mask requirement is also often not observed. “We therefore urgently appeal to you to significantly step up the controls by the local police authorities, especially in places with an increased risk of infection, and to exhaust the sanction options under the Corona Ordinance,” says the letter.

After the alert level in the state and in view of the worsening corona situation in Baden-Württemberg, the chairman of the SPD parliamentary group, Andreas Stoch, calls not only to impose the necessary stricter corona rules, but also to enforce them: “Our municipalities are called upon to do this dependent on the support of the country. “

The state must support the municipalities and their authorities financially and personally. “Even more so if a complete lockdown, rather more differentiated 3G or 2G models, should help against the fourth wave,” said Stoch on Saturday. So far, compliance with the necessary measures has been checked very differently and often at best superficially.
