Cum-Ex – Wiesbaden Berger process postponed – economy

The trial at the Wiesbaden district court against the “Cum-Ex” key figure Hanno Berger has been postponed. Instead of starting April 12 as planned, the 71-year-old will only be responsible from June 2 on suspicion of tax evasion, the authority said. The reason is that the public defenders still have to familiarize themselves “with the extensive files”. Former tax official Berger is considered the architect of the “cum-ex” deals in Germany, in which investors had capital gains taxes that had never been paid refunded and thus cheated the state by an estimated two-digit billion amount. Berger has had to answer to the Bonn Regional Court since Monday.
