The partial confession by Hanno Berger, known as Mr. Cum-Ex, is a turning point and a victory for the Enlightenment. Tenacious investigations are more important than ever in these times.

For almost a decade, Hanno Berger campaigned against a supposedly unjust state in the Cum-Ex tax scandal. For almost ten years, Berger, who was once in demand as a tricky tax lawyer among millionaires and billionaires, presented himself as the persecuted innocence and victim. Now the angry citizen Berger has made a partial confession at the Bonn Regional Court, where he is accused of tax evasion in particularly serious cases. The 71-year-old lawyer admitted to having acted with conditional intent in individual cases.
