New name, new place

The first exhibition of “Art-Verwandt-Schafft” will take place this weekend in the monastery school in Glonn. The group of artists originally came together through a common interest in depicting and preserving the beautiful landscape in the southern district and is known from numerous exhibitions in the senior center in Kirchseeon. The kind relatives are Evi Duncan, Martina Schüller-Fuchs, Susanne Oswald, Heike Wildmoser, Monika Tiefenböck, Edith Immich, Colin Duncan and Gerold Hauer. The spectrum of her works ranges from watercolor and calligraphy to acrylic and oil to unconventional object art as well as collages and assemblages. The vernissage will take place this Friday, July 15, at 7.30 p.m., it is open on Saturday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free.

Two times “Four Seasons”

A very special summer concert will take place this Friday, July 15, at 8 p.m. in the parish church of Vaterstetten. The “Four Seasons” are heard twice, namely once by Antonio Vivaldi and once by Astor Piazzola. it plays that String Orchestra of Vaterstetten along with the renowned Ruby Ensemble from Ferenz Kölcze, Klaus Kämper, Artur Medvedev and Roberto Seidel. Beatrice Menz-Hermann can be heard on the organ. Admission is free, donations to cover costs are welcome.

Anyone who is curious about unknown songs should go to the Oldies Bar in Poing this Friday, July 15th. Facets of Terror

Terror – internal and external – is the subject of a play that will be read on Saturday, July 16, at 8 p.m. in the Meta Theater in Moosach. The lyrics are by Liwaa Yazji and were written earlier this year while on a research fellowship at Meta Theater. The play “Terror” takes place in a hotel where the two main characters are stuck because of an attack at Istanbul Airport. The human relationship is framed by the news on the TV screen in the room… Liwaa Yazji, Denijen Paulhejevic and two drama students from the Otto Falkenberg School are reading. Admission is free, but not for nothing, which means that donations are requested. Liwaa Yazji is a filmmaker, screenwriter, playwright and poet. She lived and worked in Damascus. After that she moved to Beirut, later to Berlin. Her debut documentary Haunted premiered at FID Marseille and her play Goats premiered at the Royal Court Theater in London. Her documentary “Hostage” was part of the DOC Station Berlinale and the DOK Fest Munich Market. She wrote the libretto for the music theater “Songs for Days to Come”, Theater Osnabrück.
