“Culture in the Chancellery” without Chancellor Olaf Scholz – Culture

Claudia Roth has to do without the support of Olaf Scholz at the “Culture in the Chancellery” event. But it doesn’t matter, because the major social crises are ultimately only a marginal issue anyway.

If the Chancellor had really come, it would have been powerful support for Claudia Roth. For the Minister of State for Culture, there is currently one crisis after another, with the heated dispute over the “Berlinale” being the last one for the time being. This doesn’t necessarily have to do with Roth’s mistakes, which were there too, but rather with a drastically changed social climate. The aggressiveness against “left-wing” art, the general suspicion against “the cultural sector”, which is supposedly a stronghold of anti-Semites, makes previous controversies appear in an almost mild light. So if Olaf Scholz had come to “Culture in the Chancellery” on Tuesday evening, it would have been a nice support for Roth.
