The Maid of Orleans, a classic masterpiece and probably his most popular drama during Schiller’s lifetime, tells a powerful story about an unusual female figure: idealized national saint, icon of female restraint, fighting machine in men’s clothes or religious fanatic? On Saturday, May 21, the Landestheater Schwaben is showing Schiller’s “Jungfrau von Orleans” in the Unterhachinger Kubiz (director: Kathrin Mädler).
