The shares of the ticket seller and concert organizer CTS-Eventim fell by almost nine percent today. The TV satirist Jan Böhmermann had previously criticized the group in his ZDF program.

After criticism from the TV satirist Jan Böhmermann, the shares of the event marketer and ticket dealer CTS-Eventim crashed today. In his program “ZDF Magazin Royale”, Böhmermann made the group a topic on Friday. The episode is entitled: “With fantasy fees to the event empire”.

In the show, the controversial satirist referred to the enormous market power of what he claims to be the leading international provider of tickets and live events. Böhmermann also criticized the ticket sales fees as too high.

slump during the pandemic

The shares of the M-Dax-listed company slipped significantly during the course of the day and were around 8.8 percent down at the end of trading – in an otherwise friendly market environment. The fall in the share price was often interpreted as a result of Böhmermann’s scolding on Friday evening.

Since the beginning of the year, the CTS-Eventim share has increased by a good nine percent – a recovery effect after the slump during the corona pandemic. Concerts and live events therefore had to be canceled completely.

At the beginning of last year, the company received 36 million euros from the state – as part of the Corona bridging aid. According to Böhmermann, there should have been a total of 276 million euros in corona aid for CTS-Eventim.
