The CSU member of the Bundestag Florian Hahn has tested positive for the corona virus and has gone into domestic isolation, as he told the SZ. As a result of the infection, the 47-year-old will very likely not be able to take part in the Federal Assembly, where the Federal President will be elected next Sunday, February 13, in the Paul Löbe House in Berlin’s government district. In office, Hahn is one of 1,472 members of the body that votes on the future head of state; the re-election of the incumbent Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier (SPD) is considered certain thanks to the support of the traffic light coalition and the Union. According to his own statement, he wanted to take part in the virtual New Year’s reception of the CSU in the Munich district, of which Putzbrunner Hahn is the chairman, despite the infection.
