CSU and Free Voters agree on administrative court in Plattling – Bavaria

In the discussion about a new administrative court in Lower Bavaria, the town of Plattling is emerging as a future location. According to the party, the majority of Free Voters approved a corresponding proposal from the CSU at their parliamentary group meeting on Wednesday.

The authority was originally supposed to be located in Freyung in the Bavarian Forest. This resulted in a location debate that lasted for years. The Free Voters brought Deggendorf into play.

Now the CSU followed up with the Plattling proposal. Plattling is located in the Deggendorf district and has good transport connections via motorway and train connection including an ICE stop, said Free Voters parliamentary group leader Florian Streibl German press agency. His party suggested Deggendorf, among other things, because the anchor center is located there and a large part of the procedures in administrative courts are asylum procedures. Many of those involved could have walked to court, said Streibl.

The cabinet must decide on the location – but after agreement at parliamentary group level, this is only a formality. Then the Bavarian Administrative Procedure Act would have to be changed and the court location would have to be added. However, a timetable for this is not yet foreseeable.

“We welcome the compromise that was found at the suggestion of (Construction Minister) Christian Bernreiter (CSU),” said CSU parliamentary group leader Klaus Holetschek dpa. With Plattling as the location, the impasse is finally over and Lower Bavaria will be the last district to have its own administrative court. “Even if another location would have been possible, Plattling has the best conditions thanks to its good accessibility and transport connections by road and rail.”

Bernreiter said Bavaria Media Group In an initial reaction, he said he was “very happy that we as the Bavarian coalition can now apparently agree on a proposal and thus be able to implement an administrative court for Lower Bavaria.”
