The Scandinavian royal families congratulated Crown Prince Haakon of Norway on his 50th birthday with touching pictures.
Congratulations from his home country
The Norwegian royal family congratulated on his official Instagram page with several photos by Haakon. For example, he can currently be seen with the family dog Molly. Other photos show him as a baby, as a child and as a teenager, while skiing and with his great love Mette-Marit (49). “Happy birthday, Crown Prince Haakon!” It says. It is also reminded that he is celebrating his milestone birthday privately. A joint celebration with Mette-Marit, who will also be 50 next month, will not take place until August 25th. On the wedding day of the crown prince couple, there will be a “backyard party” in the castle – with guests from all over Norway.
But if you want to congratulate the crown prince now, you still have the opportunity to do so until midnight. On the farm’s website there is a digital guest book in which anyone interested can sign. Many subjects have already taken the opportunity to wish the future king all the best. “We are lucky to have such a wonderful crown prince in this beautiful country,” wrote a Norwegian.

Also the Swedish royal family congratulated via Instagram and showed four pictures of different encounters with Haakon. So are King Carl XVI. Gustaf (77) and the Crown Prince seen at the opening of Kosterhavets National Park in 2009 and on a state visit to Norway in 1974 when Haakon was a toddler. The palace also posted two pictures of Haakon and the Swedish Crown Princess Victoria (46) from 1999 and 2022.
The Norwegian and Swedish royal houses are well acquainted with each other. Above all, Victoria and Haakon maintain a close friendship. Their families regularly vacation together. She is the godmother of his daughter Ingrid Alexandra (19), he is the godfather of her daughter Estelle (11).

And also the Danish royal family posted congratulations, also combined with some photos of shared experiences. In the pictures, for example, Haakon can be seen with Queen Margrethe II (83) and on the occasion of his wedding, where Crown Prince Frederik (55) acted as best man.
