The seventh minute was chosen by the fans because the number seven has been Ronaldo’s shirt number for many years.

In addition, both teams wear black ribbons.

After the bad news, numerous footballers from all over the world expressed their condolences. And the fans of Liverpool FC also sent a sign of solidarity for Ronaldo with the campaign.

The Portuguese himself does not hear the applause on Anfield Road. Ronaldo is not in the squad, takes a break after the loss of his son and sits out the game.

Man United coach Ralf Rangnick (63) before the game: “It showed once again that there are more important things in life than football. The whole team, the whole club is with him. It was clear to me that he has to be where he is today: with his family.”

Ronaldo and Georgina announced the sad news with a joint statement on Instagram.

The pair wrote: “It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our son. It’s the greatest pain a parent can feel. Only the birth of our little girl gives us the strength to live this moment with some hope and happiness. We would like to thank the doctors and nurses for their care and support. We are devastated and ask for privacy at this very difficult time. Our boy, you are our angel. We will love you forever.”

Afterwards, many football celebrities expressed their sympathy. These included Ronaldo’s ManUnited teammates Diogo Dalot (22) and Alex Telles (29), but also former teammates such as Alvaro Morata (29), James Rodriguez (30) and Miralem Pjanic (32).

Women’s football legend Marta (39/”A lot of strength for you, your wife and your entire family.”), Hertha star Kevin-Prince Boateng (35) and Usain Bolt (35) also expressed their sympathy.

In addition to the players, many clubs commented, including city rivals Manchester City. The club wrote: “Everyone at Manchester City sends their deepest condolences to you and Georgina.” The Premier League wrote: “Our thoughts and sympathy from everyone in the Premier League are with you and your family Cristiano.”
